According to the World Health Organization, over 4.5 billion people currently lack sufficient access to essential health services. This alarming statistic is exacerbated by a projected shortage of 18 million health workers and 6.4 million physicians by 2030, highlighting the critical need for immediate action to address this shortfall. By empowering the next generation of physicians to commit themselves to serving communities in need, we are paving the way for unparalleled advancements in global health equity.

One dream

united by purpose

As international medical students and graduates, we are integral members of a global community of approximately 2 million individuals, all united by the shared dream of becoming physicians. Our motivation to fulfill our life’s calling is deeply rooted in our diverse values, cultures, experiences, and circumstances. Each of us hold a firm commitment to our chosen path, driven by altruistic ideals. It is our profound compassion and empathy for those suffering and in need of care that fuels our sense of purpose.

One mission

fulfilled through service

As a global collective of medical students and graduates, it’s imperative that we recognize our responsibility in tackling global health challenges. By contributing our medical expertise and capabilities, we have the capacity to significantly impact vulnerable patient populations across the globe. This endeavor necessitates dedicated cooperation with academic medical institutions, organizations, and individuals alike. Through pinpointing areas where our combined efforts can generate the most substantial outcomes, we are steadfast in our commitment to utilizing our distinct skills, resources, and global network to empower and support vulnerable patient communities.

Our shared mission to serve the most vulnerable is in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which provide a holistic global framework for tackling crucial social issues. We wholeheartedly endorse their endeavors to ensure universal healthcare coverage for all people.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals we've aligned to:

One voice

standing in solidarity

Throughout history, transformative leaders and movements have profoundly shaped our world, offering hope to the vulnerable and inspiring change. These movements were fueled by individuals who possessed a sensitivity to global suffering and dedicated themselves to taking meaningful action.

As IMGs, we are presented with a unique opportunity to stand in solidarity with the global community of organizations dedicated to selflessly assisting those in need. Let us unite under the guiding principles of our Hippocratic oath, answering the universal call to action and embracing our roles as agents for global health equity.

Together, let us extend care, empathy and compassion to those who are suffering, striving to bring about enduring change on a global scale.
